The best way to check for this is by using a tire gauge to recheck the pressure of your tires. If they are still low, it is likely that you have a punctured tire that will need to be repaired or replaced.

How To Turn Off Your Tyre Pressure Light After Filling Tyres?

If your tire pressure light remains on after you fill your tires, the problem is probably with your TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). The sensors in your car’s tires communicate with a vehicle computer to indicate the air pressure.

If the computer detects that a specific tire is underinflated, the TPMS will trigger a warning light to turn on.

  1. If the TPMS light in your car has turned on, first check that there isn’t a nail or puncture hole in one of the tires. If there is, fix the leak and inflate the tire to the manufacturer’s specification. Then, drive the vehicle for a few miles, which will reset the sensor.
  2. Another possibility is that the TPMS light has been activated due to temperature changes. During extreme cold or hot weather, the air pressure in your tires can drop. If the TPMS light has come on because of this, wait until the temperatures stabilise before inflating the tires again.
